The Cognitive Behavioral Assistive Technology (CB-AT) Team is part of the Goal-Oriented Technology Research Group in the RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project (AIP). It was launched in April 2017 by team leader Mihoko Otake, who was formerly part of the the University of Tokyo (September 2006-April 2012) and Chiba University (April 2012-March 2017).
Research Themes
It is becoming more important than ever before to discover how artificial intelligence nurtures human intelligence and how human intelligence and artificial intelligence complement each other to achieve higher intelligence. The cognitive behavior support technology team (RIKEN · Research Center for Advanced Intelligence Project), in particular, aims to prevent cognitive decline and dementia in the elderly where human intelligence necessary for social life is impaired. We will focus on developing cognitive action support technology that will increase reserve capacity. We develop conversation support technology using photos and conversation support AI based on the co-imaging method, implement it in a cognitive behavior support system, and evaluate the impact on human cognitive and psychological aspects.
